Costume Designs

For this class assigned production of the Bengal Tiger, my production team and I choose to explore the supernatural elements, while also focusing on the demons haunting each of these characters and their life choices as a result of those demons.

This project’s purpose was to make an abstract Miss USA pageant. I choose to use various states I have lived in over the years for the contestants. For WV I choose to focus on the beautiful skies while incorporating a snake on the costume as I met numerous snakes during my years living there. For Texas I picked bluebonnets for my state inspiration as myself and so many others over the years took the iconic bluebonnet photos every spring growing up. Having lived in LA for several years I wanted to capture that old Hollywood feel from the Rat Pack days, a feeling I would often experience driving through the streets of Burbank.

For my Cirque Du Soleil production, I drew inspiration from some of my favorite books and movies as I have a love of horror and all things Stephen King. The concept included a chorus line of creepy Shinning twins dancing with Danny’s character, a contortionist who incorporates his tricycle as part of his performance. Misery’s Annie Wilkes, stars in the show as the MC guiding the audience through each characters story. Candyman is one of the aerialists and with all the classic horror characters, I drew inspiration from their famous costumes, but added my own twist so that they are still recognizable, yet original. Candyman’s jacket is adorned with gold bees while wearing a reflective mirror mask as a mirror was a central part of summoning him. Michael Myers spends his act juggling his famous butcher knifes, while Freddy Krueger is a firer breather with pants that honour his famous stripped shirt. Church and Cujo and are both massive puppets in the show as they terrorizes the stage with their antics
